Sympatex, a supplier of high-tech functional materials, has been named among winners at this year’s ISPO trade show. Three of its partner brands took prizes at the show, currently under way in Munich.

The winner in the 'kids apparel’ category was Spotlight, a Hungarian children's clothing producer that used Sympatex’s membrane and recycled PET fibre in a two-layer functional jacket.

Mamalila’s all-weather jacket is a finalist in the sportswear category, and the gold winner in the apparel special-purpose category. The three-layer jackets, made for parents carrying babies, use Sympatex Windmaster to make the products windproof and breathable.

In the ‘action’ category, Austrian snowboard brand Deeluxe enjoyed success with its snowboard boot, Spark Summit. The outer and inner shoe are made of leather, and it uses the Sympatex membrane to create a warm and dry climate for the foot.

Jeremy Sladen, a judge of the awards and snowboard operations manager at Snowboard Asylum UK, said: “By combining the outdoor focused Vibram sole unit with state of the art snowboard boot design and construction, Deeluxe created a piece of equipment that will deliver great performance whether ascending with crampons, skinning up the mountain or dropping the steepest chute."

Sympatex also offered updates on its policy on PFCs and C6,C8 and C0 chemistry at the Munich-based trade show today.
