The North Face teams up with PrimaLoft for waterproof insulation system

It is produced using proprietary manufacturing techniques to achieve uniform, round ultra-fine fibre clusters that mimic the loft and warmth of a down cluster, with the added wet weather insulating performance of PrimaLoft.
Independent testing by Kansas State University has shown that it has equivalent warmth to 600 fill goose down.
The North Face said it is reducing its environmental impacts by engaging its suppliers with the bluesign standard – an independent certification that ensures that factories improve resource efficiency and eliminate harmful chemicals at the earliest stages. “We plan to increase our percentage of bluesign-approved materials each season and aim to convert 65% of our total fabric to the bluesign standard by 2015,” it added.
The company’s autumn 2013 collection includes a Thermoball hoodie and a Thermoball full zip jacket.
