ASICS ups sales in Q3

Japanese sports footwear brand ASICS increased its sales in the first nine months of its financial year for 2012-2013 (ending December 31) by 2.3% compared to the same period the previous year.

The total sales for the nine-month period were close to $2.1 billion.

It also said that sales in the fourth quarter had been strong and that it expects to post an even bigger sales increase in its full-year figures for 2012.

It said its shoes and apparel for performance running and tennis had been its strongest categories, with other court sports, volleyball and handball also performing well.
