Italian sustainable fashion discussion to take place in Manchester

12/02/2013
Manchester Metropolitan University and global textile industry organisation The Textile Institute are joining forces to present an event on sustainable fashion in Italy. It will take place in Manchester on February 18 at the university’s Garden Restaurant.

A special interest group at The Textile Institute focusing on sustainability has worked with the university’s department of clothing, design and technology to set the event up. Marco Ricchetti, one of the co-editors of a book published in Italy last year called The Beautiful and the Good, which includes a series of essays from prominent commentators on the fashion industry in Italy, will speak at the Manchester event.

His talk will start at 7.00 pm. Places are limited at the event and the organisers have asked attendees to register in advance by emailing Vanessa Knowles at vanessa@pebbleinternational.com. The event is free to attend for students at Manchester Metropolitan University, but other attendees will be asked to pay a small fee at the door.
