Kelheim receives AEO C certificate

Viscose fibre producer Kelheim Fibres has been awarded the AEO C certificate, a standard developed in collaboration with the World Customs Organisation that aims to secure the international supply chain.

Its intention is to prevent crimes such as smuggling, forgery and terrorism, and the criteria include customs compliance, record-keeping, financial solvency and appropriate security and safety standards.

Kelheim can now make use of a simplified customs processes, which it says will also benefit its customers.

About 90,000 tons of viscose fibres are produced at Kelheim’s German plant per year and are exported to 44 countries.
