HT Concept extends “wellness-inducing” ceramic technology

France’s HT Concept has expanded and updated the usages of its ceramic technology, which is said to have a number of health benefits.

Based on the Solar Res mineral compound, patented by Jacques Casper in 2006, HT Concept's Gold Reflect’line has recently been chosen by US brand Quiksilver for use inside a ski jacket, which was launched at the ISPO Munich trade fair this month.

The technology is said to promote wellness, improve balance, increase performance, promote faster recovery and offer thermoregulation.

It works by combining 30 metallic oxides in a polyurethane binder which, when coated or printed on a fabric, reflect far infrared rays back to the body and produce desired effects.

HT Concept has been testing the technology on athletes from wide-ranging fields, who report reduced fatigue and improved performance.

A study of the French army candidates wearing the material compared with those wearing placebos reportedly showed increased lateral stability, which could be very beneficial for soldiers out in the field.

Test subjects also reported that it reduced muscle pain, so a study involving the French pharmacological organisation is currently under way to try to verify this, and is due to conclude in November.

At the Premiere Vision textile show in Paris last week, HT Concept revealed updates to the technology, which can now be printed on fleece. The fabrics can be made with a softer hand and pigment can now be added, widening the range of colours.
