Cotton shortage is a problem for Pakistani yarn producers

25/02/2013
Reports from Pakistan say the new cotton crop there is short of the target set by the government by 1.3 million bales, which yarn producers say will cost them $1 billion in lost export revenues.

Producers will turn to India to make up the shortfall in raw material, but say this will put them at a disadvantage to their Indian competitors in their efforts to sell cotton yarn for textile manufacturers in China.
