Nike suspends Oscar Pistorius contract

Sport brand Nike has suspended its sponsorship contract with South African athlete Oscar Pistorius.

Mr Pistorius has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. The case will come to court at the beginning of June.

In a statement following initial court hearings, Nike said: “We believe Oscar Pistorius should be afforded due process and we will continue to monitor the situation closely.”
