Evonik plant back to full capacity

26/02/2013
Polymer manufacturer Evonik has confirmed that its supply to customers of cyclododecatriene (CDT) is back at full levels.

CDT is used to make laurolactam which, in turn, is used as a monomer in polyamide 12. Supplies suffered following a fire at Evonik’s plant in Marl in western Germany in March 2012.

Production resumed at the reconstructed plant in December and tests in February show that it can now run at full capacity again.
