Ecco marketing manager returns to pro golf

Jesper Thuen, footwear brand Ecco’s global marketing manager for golf shoes, has left the company, with the blessing of chief executive, Dieter Kasprzak, to return to professional golf.

Mr Thuen has worked for the Danish footwear company since 1997 but played professional golf before that. Close friends who stayed in the pro game convinced him that he was “wasting a great talent” as a golfer and he has decided to give up his job and take part in the northern European Ecco Tour, a series of 16 tournaments across six countries, with a total prize fund of more than EUR 600,000.

On handing in his resignation, Jesper Thuen said: “Ecco is among my sponsors and I will keep working on public relations and sponsorships. I am very grateful for the opportunity to pursue my dream of playing professional golf again.”
