Collano offers new adhesives for sports and outdoorwear

Adhesives manufacturer Collano is to unveil its latest products for the sportswear, footwear and protective clothing industries at the Techtextil trade show in June.

The Swiss company says it will present two highlights: thermoplastic film adhesives with Oeko-Tex certification, and a system of a breathable membranes and moisture-curing polyurethane hot-melt.

Its film adhesives products were recently awarded environmental certification Oeko-Tex Standard 100, which it says acts as a “safeguard for both textile manufacturers and users”.

For manufacturers of outdoor fashion, military clothing, sportswear and workwear, Collano has developed a system in which the adhesive is matched to the breathable membrane. It suggests this ensures reliability in laminate production and meets requirements on breathability, lightness, washing resistance and soft handle.

Collano offers technologies including water-based adhesive systems, reactive adhesive systems based on polyurethane or silanes, thermoplastic film adhesives, solvent-based adhesives and reactive hot-melts.

Techtextil will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, between June 11 and 13.
