Adidas joins Coca-Cola in recycling initiative
08/04/2013
Ekocycle repurposes plastic bottles for use as recycled content, with the limited-edition adidas Feel Good t-shirt made from 50% PET (polyethylene terephthalate, found in the drinks bottles) and 50% organic cotton.
Denim company Levis has also signed up – its limited edition 501 Waste-Less jeans are made with an average of eight bottles per pair.
Will.i.am said: “We’re putting the spotlight on our new Ekocycle brand partner, adidas, and celebrating all of our more sustainable products during Green Week. We can help further the belief that waste is only waste if we waste it, while playing a positive role in shifting behaviour to reuse, recycle and reduce waste.”
Green week, beginning April 7, is run in conjunction with the National Basketball League in the US and is focused on reducing the league’s ecological impact and educating basketball fans about the importance of environmental protection.
