Cambodia: Textiles exports rise 17% in first quarter

26/04/2013
Reports from Cambodia show the country saw a 17% rise in its exports of textiles and garments in the first quarter of this year, to reach $1.34 billion.

The Commerce Ministry said it attributes the increase to economic recovery in Europe and the US, which are the main buyers of Cambodia-made clothing.

The garment industry is the country's largest income earner, representing more than 80% of the country's exports. It earned $4.6 billion in 2012 – 8% more than in 2011.
