High-tech fleece fastest-selling line for Pontetorto

Italian performance fabric manufacturer Pontetorto has said that its Tecnostretch high-tech fleece range is its fastest growing product category at the moment. “High-tech surfaces are the latest trend in sports apparel,” the company has said in a statement, “even for fleece.”

Tecnostretch fleece fabrics have pile on the reverse and a smooth outer to provide a high-tech look. In addition, spandex gives the fabric stretch and elasticity. The insulating properties of the fleece remain, Pontetorto said, because the plush inners (sheared and unbrushed or unfleeced with visible loops) trap warmth from the wearer’s body.

“Production requires skill and craftsmanship,” the company added. “These items should be just as resistant to snagging and pilling as all the other fleeces.” It said it had devoted “many years of development and experience” to producing “the ideal combination” of fibre density and knitting technique to produce light, soft, elastic, and still durable fabrics.

Weights range from 125 to around 250 grammes per square-metre. The fabrics are bluesign-certified and are 100% made in Italy.
