Second factory collapse in a week in Cambodia

The president of the Cambodian Labour Confederation, Ath Thun, has said he is concerned for the safety of garment factory workers in the country. Mr Thun made the statement on May 20 after a second factory collapse in Cambodia in the space of a week.

Following a fatal accident at a shoe factory in Kampong Speu province on May 16, the roof of one of the buildings at a clothing factory in the capital, Phnom Penh, collapsed on May 20. Reports from Cambodia say no one was killed as a result of the second accident but that 23 workers were injured.
