Warning to clothing firms as SA textile workers strike

24/05/2013
Approximately 10,000 members of the Southern African Clothing & Textile Workers’ Union (SACTWU) went on strike on May 21 and 22 to protest against rates of pay.

Most of the companies affected were clothing manufacturers in KwaZulu-Natal province.

SACTWU said the strike had only lasted two days because it wanted to deliver a warning to manufacturers.
