Chinese facilities scoop first DyStar awards

The Wuxi production site in eastern China was deemed to have the best sustainable production practices, and DyStar China’s sales offices and laboratory in Shanghai implemented several programmes that have reduced electricity consumption.
The awards programme was launched in 2011 to motivate all production sites and offices “to care for the future” – a ‘brand value’, according to the company. Leadership, teamwork, communication, capacity building, motivation and integration of sustainable production practices into daily operations were assessed across the group’s sites in 50 countries.
Dr Charu Jain, DyStar’s global sustainability manager, said: “Our approach to sustainability management and the many local initiatives at the site level will contribute significantly to reducing the overall impact of DyStar Group. We were delighted with the engagement of the sites in the award scheme and the quality of the winning entries.”
