Dutch companies join forces for economic growth
07/06/2013
Companies involved include membrane technology provider Pentair X-Flow and protective textiles manufacturer TenCate.
The promoter of this collaboration is a recently established foundation called AMMON (Advanced Materials Manufacturing Oost-Nederland [East Netherlands]). The provincial authorities in Overijssel and Gelderland in the east of the country have welcomed the development and have created favourable conditions by supporting the construction of demonstrators and by becoming a launch customer.
AMMON said in a statement on June 6 that the east Netherlands region has a rich industrial past, adding that manufacturing is a major driver of the Dutch knowledge economy. However, it believes many of these companies now face the challenge of making the transition from product to system innovation in order to assure their future earning power. This will require focused collaboration between companies in the field of system development, implementation and joint marketing. And this was the reason for creating AMMON.
