Sports brand Puma has announced that it will build a new central distribution centre for the Nordic region in the Swedish city of Helsingborg.

It will distribute merchandise under the Puma, Cobra Puma Golf and Tretorn brands throughout the region from the new facility, which will cover a total area of 23,000 square-metres.

Local media quoted Peter Bedsted, the chief executive of Puma Nordic, as saying: “The Nordic region is an extremely important market and we are very proud of the fact that Puma has chosen to establish this project here.”

Mr Bedsted suggested that the new distribution centre would work as a pilot project, with the sports company possibly rolling the same logistics model out in other European markets. He said the new facility would be operational by next year.
