10,000 consumers say adidas and Nike are most sustainable

                    The German group came in at number 15, while its US rival was ranked 31. The only other apparel brands to feature in the top 50 are Swedish retailer H&M (number 42) and Spain’s Zara (48).
The brands’ involvement in the Roadmap to Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals may have helped their public image. They have also been working on their energy efficiency and have been monitoring supply chains.
The consultancy looked at the world’s biggest companies in terms of sustainability. Car and technology companies dominated the list, with Toyota, Ford and Honda the top three.
Scores were calculated by combining standardised performance and perception scores. Consultancy Deloitte assessed each brand on 83 sub-metrics across governance, stakeholder engagement, operations, supply chain, transportation and logistics, and products and services.
