DuPont applauds Obama announcement on climate change, but wants more

DuPont’s chief sustainability officer, Linda Fisher, said in response: “DuPont supports actions to address the global challenge of climate change, and believes that coordinated action by nations employing market-based solution will ultimately be required.
“We have set voluntary goals to reduce our energy use and greenhouse gas emissions and have achieved significant progress. We are heartened by the growing range of greenhouse gas emissions reduction programmes in both developed and developing nations, but recognise that in the US, Congress has not yet acted. We believe that US leadership in this area is important.”
Ms Fisher went on to say that, in the absence of an agreement at the US Congress on how the US as a whole should respond, planned improvements the president has announced in efficiency, renewable energy and carbon emissions are constructive and a good example of leadership.
