Roger Federer’s Nikes banned for breaking Wimbledon rules

Tennis player Roger Federer has been told he cannot wear his orange-soled Nike trainers after they were judged to have broken Wimbledon's all-white dress code.

Mr Federer wore the Nike Zoom Vapor 9, designed by Nike innovation and design head Tinker Hatfield, in the first round, but will have to find an alternative for subsequent games.

The rules state: "Including the warm-up period, players at Wimbledon must be dressed almost entirely in white."

A number of players were reportedly questioned about their attire after round one.
