BASF to offer “additional assurance” in textiles through bluesign commitment

Chemical company BASF has adopted the requirements of the bluesign system for its products in the textile value chain.

“This cooperation with bluesign technologies is aligned with our commitment to high standards in environment and safety,” said Lu¨tfu¨ Okman, vice-president of global business management for textile chemicals for BASF in south-east Asia.

On behalf of bluesign technologies, chief executive, Peter Waeber, described BASF as “a pioneer and role model”.

The textile chemical manufacturer said its adoption of the bluesign system should provide “additional assurance” to textile mills, brand owners, and other companies in the textile value chain.
