Elite mountaineers at Outdoor Retailer

Husband-and-wife team Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, the first woman in the world to complete climbs of the 14 eight-thousander mountains without supplementary oxygen or high-altitude porters, and Ralf Dujmovits, the first German to climb them all, will take part in a meet-and-greet session at the stand of Austrian outdoor brand Komperdell at 10 am on August 1.
Also present at the show will be Nick Cienski. On the one hand, Mr Cienski has an interest in all things sports and outdoor because he is senior director of special projects at Under Armour. However, he will also be representing active particles textile technology provider Cocona.
Using Cocona in everything from baselayers to extreme outerwear, Nick Cienski will attempt to climb all 14 eight-thousanders in less than two years, smashing the current record of seven years and ten months. He will begin in January 2014.
