Talon’s hiring spree pays off

13/08/2013
Zip, trim and stretch technology provider Talon International has reported sales of $16.6 million in the second quarter – an increase of 26% and its fourth consecutive double-digit quarterly increase.

Sales of zips totalled $9.5 million, up 37.9%; trim sales were $7.1 million, up 13.4%; and sales of fabric technology TekFit increased 40.9% over the same period last year, albeit off a small base.

The gains reflect increased business from existing customers as well as the addition of new brands and retailers, on the back of an expanded sales team.

Lonnie Schnell, CEO at the US company, said: "This year we have expanded our global sales teams and opened sales offices in Europe and Asia. Importantly, now that we have successfully eliminated the preferred stock liabilities, we are better capitalised, and even better positioned, to compete and grow significantly."
