Exports from Colombia to Canada have grown by 19.5% during the two years since a free trade agreement was established between the countries, according to Colombia's Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.

Exports of apparel and textiles – in particular specialised knitwear, sportswear and lingerie – grew 20.2%.

“The diversification of our products in the market has been one of the biggest benefits," said Maria Claudia Lacouture, president of Proexport Colombia, the entity in charge of trade, investment and tourism promotion.

Proexport is holding a business matchmaking forum in Chicago on September 4 and 5, to showcase opportunities for US and Canadian investors.
