Invista and Vardhman look for growth in stretch fabric market

05/09/2013
Polymer and fibre manufacturer Invista has partnered with Indian spinning group Vardhman to develop spun yarns with Lycra T166L fibre. Invista developed this component of the Lycra range specifically for the manufacture of stretch woven fabrics.

The two companies have been partners for a number of years.

Vardhman’s head of marketing for yarns, Neeraj Jain, said at the time of the announcement that Lycra T166L can be combined with natural or synthetic fibres and provides “excellent performance for core spinning”. He said trials already carried out by Vardhman involving a variety of fibres and fabrics, including Coolmax and Thermolite, have proved successful.
