Sports-Pool moves to acquire Zimtstern

Swiss winter sports apparel brand Zimtstern is being acquired by Sports-Pool, the parent company of ski and snowboard apparel brand BelowZero. Zimtstern’s 17 employees will transfer as part of the transactions.

Sports-Pool chief executive, Thomas Triet, said he believed both brands could expand their market share under the new set-up.

Zimtstern founders, Thomas Meyer and Reto Kuster, said they too expect further growth for the brand they created. Mr Meyer said: “We are pleased that we can put our baby in good hands; we are convinced we have found the best solution.”

Zimtstern’s showrooms in Munich and Zurich will continue to operate from the same locations in each city. However, the brand’s offices will move in December to Sports-Pool’s headquarters in Suhr in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland.
