Abacus Sportswear to feature DryCool and StretchDry

03/10/2013

Sweden-based technical clothing company Abacus Sportswear has introduced multi-functional DryCool and StretchDry pieces to its autumn-winter 2013 collection.

The company’s Druids turtleneck provides multi-purpose functionality, allowing the wearer to use it as either a jumper or a base layer. The DryCool fabric enables the material to absorb and quickly wick away sweat from the skin's surface, delivering moisture to the surface of the garment and allowing the fabric to dry faster.

The lightweight material disperses heat from the body during vigorous exercise. With its thin inner-lining fleece, the Druids turtleneck helps the wearer to stay dry, warm and comfortable.

Another multi-functional piece from the AW13 collection is its Putter trousers. Made from StretchDry fabric, a lightweight waterproof two-layer stretch material, the trousers can double as waterproofs and can be worn as an outer layer. Fully lined for additional winter warmth, the 10,000 water pillar (WP) and 10,000 moisture vapour pillar (MVP) ensure the trousers are waterproof and highly breathable. The StretchDry fabric’s 1.17 Coefficient of Stretch (CoS) also makes the trousers flexible, so that they move in sync with the golfer, while the fabric’s water-repellent finishing provides added stain protection.

Chris Mattsson, designer at Abacus Sportswear, explained: “The introduction of multi-functional technical garments into our autumn-winter range continues the concept of our spring-summer 2013 collection, whereby customers can get more out of their wardrobes.

“With a number of carefully chosen colour combinations and multi-purpose pieces, golfers can create many different outfits with fewer items in their suitcases.”
