Ecocise to challenge for sock-related world record

07/10/2013

A world record attempt involving Ecocise’s high-performance athletic socks will take place on October 13 at Kobey’s Swap Meet in San Diego.

Visitors to the open air market are invited to donate new or gently used infant, youth, and adult-sized pairs of socks at the company’s stand in space H-16. All of the socks collected will be donated to the Goodwill Industries of San Diego County.

As well as attempting to break the Guinness Word Record for the largest sock drive at one location in eight hours by collecting 2,460 pairs of socks, the event will also help to support the National MS Society. The company is partnering with the society for its three-day Challenge Walk and Bike MS events and will donate 10% of the proceeds of its sock sales to help fund vital research.

Ecocise will present its full line of spun bamboo clothes during the record attempt, although it will focus primarily on the distribution of its high-performance bamboo socks. According to the company, the socks feel like silk and are naturally organic and anti-bacterial as well as providing arch support.
