Eurovet and Invista bring Interfilière flavour to New York
US-based polymers and fibres producer Invista and France-based event organiser Eurovet brought a taste of Interfilière Paris to the Tribeca Skyline Studios in New York at the end of September.
The event, which focused on the performance apparel, swimwear and intimates segments, brought buyers and retailers from international fabric mills together for a special trend presentation. A total of 21 mills from 11 countries were represented at the event, while guests from around 70 brands and retailers from across the Americas attended.
The afternoon kicked off with a networking workshop, giving visitors the chance to view new innovations from mill suppliers, followed by a presentation on global fabric trends from Eurovet and on fibre and fabric technologies from Invista.
“[The] trend presentation allowed us to bring deeper insights directly to the American market and its key players,” states Marie-Laure Bellon-Homps, CEO of Eurovet. “Many who may not have been able to travel abroad now have a chance to take advantage of this condensed version of Interfilière Paris July ’13, which offers the largest worldwide offerings with over 350 mills.”
The trends presented by Eurovet fitted into four key themes: Silence, which focused on luminescent whites and lasting fresh hues; Oxydised, which highlighted movement, colour and animal prints with a “feel relaxed”, technical vibe; Sumputous, the most glamorous and elegant theme; and Playful, a colourful, "summer in winter" trend with a "feel active" theme.
The four trends were enhanced by Lycra’s fibres, including Lycra fibre with W technology for the Silence theme, Xtra Life Lycra for Oxydised, Lycra Beauty for Sumptuous and Lycra Sport for Playful.
“We are excited to contribute to connecting this vibrant value chain and to raise the awareness of important fibre and fabric innovations linked to key trends,” said Ninabeth Sowell, Invista senior marketing manager of intimate apparel for North America.
