Carvico to show new Vita swim fabric at Mare di Moda

Italy-based fabric manufacturer Carvico is to introduce its latest performance swimwear fabric Vita at Mare di Moda. The beachwear and underwear event will take place in Cannes from November 5-7.

An evolution of its Malaga fabric, Vita comprises 22% Xtra Life Lycra, which adds durability and protects swimwear from chlorine damage to prevent fading. The new fabric is also said to offer excellent stretch and shape retention.

Vita was trialled in a live comparison test involving a team of Italian swimmers that included former medley swimmer Luca Sacchi. With a total of 8,800 hours spent in the pool, the fabric was shown to maintain its original shape. This practical testing was accompanied by traditional laboratory analysis, which measured wear performance, chlorine resistance and resistance to sun oils and creams.

The results were recorded in a short film called Strong Like Us, which will be shown in the Carvico Movie Room at the Cannes event.
