Asics America launches light-reflecting running gear
Asics America has introduced a new line of footwear, apparel and accessories for runners who want to continue running during the darker autumn and winter months.
The Lite-Show Collection is equipped with retro-reflective technology and flatlock stitching, which provides 360-degree reflectivity that does not fade, even after repeat washings.
Headlining the collection are the special-edition GEL-Nimbus 15 Lite-Show and GEL-Cumulus 15 Lite-Show running shoes, both of which feature all-over reflective uppers.
The GEL-Nimbus 15 Lite-Show uses glow-in-the-dark gel to provide increased visibility and features the latest in Asics midsole technology, FluidRide, giving runners bounce back and cushioning with reduced weight and better durability. The shoe's FluidFit upper technology combines multi-directional stretch mesh with stretch reinforcements that adapt to the foot to create a glove-like fit.
The Lite-Show accessories and apparel come in a variety of vibrant colours that will stand out and reflect light at any time of day or night. The Lite-Show Beanie, made with Asics' Thermopolis LT fabric, provides warmth and comfort, using Lite-Show flatlock stitching for added reflectivity. The Light-Show Glove is touch-screen friendly and features the same flatlock stitch technology.
The Lite-Show Favorite Half-Zip Running Top and Lite-Show Favorite Long Sleeve feature the collection's reflective threads, UPF 50+ and anti-odour fabric.
"The wellbeing of our runners is a top priority for Asics and the new Lite-Show Collection further displays our commitment to helping athletes of all levels train safely and effectively so they can continue to better their best," said Shannon Scott, director of marketing, Asics America.
"For some runners, the early morning or after work hours is their only chance to fit in a workout. We were inspired to keep them safe by creating the new retro-reflective technology to enhance visibility and enable them to push their workout to the limit at any time of the day or night."
