New Thailand plant for Teijin fibres
Japan-based Teijin has launched Teijin Corporation (Thailand), a wholly owned subsidiary that will produce and sell newly developed meta-aramid fibre from July 2015. Production will take place at a new facility, which be constructed in Ayutthaya Province from December.
The new company will handle also production and sales of finished products containing the new meta-aramid fibre, which offers excellent heat-resistance and dyeing properties and is mainly used in protective apparel.
Teijin is strengthening operations in Thailand in a bid to expand business amid Asia’s emerging economies. Already a global production and processing base for its polyester fibre business, Thailand, is a promising market with growing demand for fibre and chemical products.
Teijin’s main fields of operation are high-performance fibres such as aramid, carbon fibres and composites, polyester fibres healthcare, films, resin and plastic processing and IT.
