Outdoor and action sport revenues up 6% at VF
Lifestyle apparel and footwear company VF Corporation has reported improved financial results for its third quarter ended September 28.
Revenues increased by 5% year-on-year to $3.3 billion, driven by growth in outdoor and action sports (+6%), jeanswear (+4%) and the company’s international (7%) and direct-to-consumer (14%) businesses.
Revenues for The North Face brand rose 3% globally, while Vans revenues were up 16% and Timberland revenues grew 2%.
Net income rose by 11% to $436 million during the third quarter compared with $393 million during the same period in 2012.
“VF is at its best when we empower our brands to deliver innovative products, connect with consumers, and operate with efficiency and discipline,” said Eric Wiseman, VF chairman and chief executive officer. “Our third quarter results validate our growth strategy and our ability to deliver strong results in a challenging economic environment.”
