Expansion work complete at DuPont R&D centre
DuPont has officially opened the second phase of its research and development (R&D) centre in Shanghai.
The expansion has added 17,500m2 to the centre and will house an additional 150 researchers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, DuPont Greater China president Tony Su said: “We see greater potential for innovation in China since the government has been aggressively implementing the strategy of innovation-driven development at a faster pace.
“As a science company, DuPont believes innovation is an inclusive process. With this expansion, we will be able to foster more collaboration with local governments, companies, academics and organisations in China to find science-based solutions for a sustainable future.”
DuPont invested more than $2.1 billion in research and development in 2012 and has 150 R&D facilities around the world.
