Chemical intermediates, polymers and fibres producer Invista has appointed two new executives to its eastern region apparel unit. Julien Born will be the division’s executive vice president, while Jack Yang will serve as chief technology officer.

“The focus on quickly translating customer and consumer insights into innovative fibres, fabrics and garments for apparel, using our Lycra, Coolmax, Thermolite and Thermocool brands to communicate the benefits and connecting brands with retailers and end user consumers has become a key differentiator for Invista”, said Mr Born.

“We’ve already seen success and a main part of my role will be focused on continuing this success and drive positive momentum to create value for Invista and our partners.”

Reporting to Mr Born, Mr Yang will be instrumental in developing and strengthening the brand’s technical and research and development (R&D) capabilities in North and South Asia. He previously held a series of technology-based leadership roles at GE.

“In practice, our mission is to inspire innovation and sustain market differentiation through deeper collaboration at all the different levels of the supply chain; here in China and around the world,” added Mr Born.
