New developments for Newlife yarns

Italy-based Saluzzo Yarns has unveiled various new developments relating to its sustainable range of Newlife yarns.

The company has unveiled a new thermal management Newlife range, which is said to offer high performance, lightness and thermal insulation for casual and activewear applications.

The company has also agreed to supply Newlife to TMR Cederna Fodere, which will use the yarns in its high-tech eco lining fabrics and French weaver Chamatex, which will use Newlife yarn and the Sympatex laminate to produce abrasion-resistant and colourfast workwear.

Newlife yarns are made from recycled post-consumption plastic bottles using a mechanical process.

The range includes flat, textured, microfibre and hollow section yarns for end uses that include fashion, sportswear, outdoor, workwear and furnishings.

According to the company, the yarns comes in a range of counts offering a range of benefits such as moisture management, antibacterial capabilities using silver ions and UV protection.
