ITMF reports rise in global yarn and fabric production
Global yarn production increased by 7.7% during the second quarter compared with first-quarter figures, according to the International Textile Manufacturers Federation.
The Switzerland-based federation attributed the increase to higher output in Asia and North and South America, with production remaining relatively flat in Europe.

Global fabric output was also up during the second quarter (+4.8%) as a consequence of higher production in Europe, South America and Asia. Year-on-year production rose in Asia and Europe but dropped in South America.
Estimates for yarn production for the third quarter are positive in Asia, neutral in North and South America and negative in Europe. Estimates for fabric production during the quarter are positive in Asia, neutral in North and South America and negative in Europe.
