ISPO almost doubles CSR exhibit space

06/11/2013
Munich-based sportswear trade show ISPO is almost doubling its Inspire exhibit area for January's edition after "great demand" at its launch this year.

The platform for social and sustainable engagement offers the industry the chance to find out more about other companies' corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects.

Arc’teryx, Billabong, Indiana, O'Neill, Patagonia, The North Face and Volcom are among brands that volunteer their staff, distribute free products or support related projects. They back projects which focus on health, education and environmental protection. One project illustrates how weatherproof ponchos for the homeless were made from production remnants.

Exhibit hall A1 will host Brands for Good and GreenroomVoice as the ambassadors for a more socially fair and greener future.

Kim Scholze, founder of Brands for Good, explained: “Our platform offers opportunities to find partners or sponsors. Our goal is to network with the press to present their activities to the public.”

An increasing number of consumers insist on conscientious use of resources as well as social fairness, and base their purchasing decisions on such factors, according to Ms Scholze.

ISPO will take place between January 26 and 29, 2014, in Munich, Germany.
