DuPont wants “drop-in” content to make the change to bio-based easy

In recent comments to specialist media covering the plastics industry, the company’s vice-president for technology, Lewis Manring, said the aim is to offer resins that have high levels of renewable content as a drop-in replacement for existing petrochemical-based content.
He said manufacturers have to find ways of making renewable polymers less expensive because most user organisations do not want to pay more for renewable. His comments suggest DuPont wants to keep developing its bio-based polymers business to make it easier and cheaper for companies to switch.
