Valencia snubs Joma for a big-brand deal

Spanish sports brand Joma will make a saving of EUR 3.7 million next year, but perhaps not in a way it would have hoped for.

Having agreed a deal in the summer of 2011 to be the official kit supplier for five seasons to one of Spain’s biggest football clubs, Valencia, Joma has now agreed to terminate the contract early.

Valencia will now seek a more lucrative deal with a new supplier before the start of the 2014-2015 season and will forgo a payment of EUR 3.7 million it was due from Joma. Media in Spain have said the football club has already held discussions about a new contract with adidas.
