Max Mara chooses NewLife

Clothing brand Max Mara will launch a range of garments for spring-summer 2014 using NewLife yarn.

The Italian company behind NewLife uses recycled plastic bottles to create a new polymer that is spun into yarns by means of a mechanical rather than chemical process.

The company claims the process is fully traceable and allows savings in water and energy resources and a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.

Max Mara says the collaboration fits in with its environmentally aware ethos. It has installed 11,000 solar panels to produce its electricity at various sites.
