Swedish golf apparel brand Abacus Sportswear has launched its spring-summer 2014 collection revealing additions to its rainwear programme, including, a new rain jacket called Walton. “Bright colours and bold patterns make for a 1950s-inspired range with a modern edge,” the brand said of the new collection at the time of the launch.

The Walton jacket contains a lightweight mesh lining and added elasticity for freedom of motion and comfort. Abacus Sportswear has a proprietary method for measuring how much freedom of motion a garment delivers, which it calls the coefficient of stretch (CoS). The Walton has been measured at CoS 2.33, which means it can stretch to nearly two-and-a-half times its original size. It also has a water column of 15,000.

Another feature is the jacket’s waterproof sealed seams, which are sewn and then sealed with a heat activated tape, making the garment 100% waterproof.

Colours available are red, navy, black and cobalt for men, and lipstick, red, navy and black for women.
