Computerised knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki will take its latest solutions to the eleventh Dhaka International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG 2014), which will take place in Dhaka from February 12-15.

This will be seventh time the Japanese textile machinery company will have taken part in the DTG event. It has had a presence in Bangladesh since 1996, and Shima Seiki has said it believes strongly in the country’s ability to keep making important strides in the global garment manufacturing industry.

“Bangladesh has seen a significant increase in knit production for export purposes in recent years,” it said in the build-up to the exhibition. “At the same time, buyers are demanding quicker turnaround for orders with more variety. Adding to that the current demand for higher wages and improved working conditions, and a formula is created for major transfer of technology from manually operated knitting machines to computerised knitting machines.”
