Dutch-German talks begin on helping textile workers

04/02/2014
Talks have taken place between government ministers in the Netherlands and Germany over a combined effort between the two countries to improve conditions for workers in the textile industry in developing countries.

A first meeting took place at the end of January in Berlin between Dutch minister for overseas trade and development, Lilianne Ploumen, and her German counterpart, Gerd Müller.

They have said they will work with the European fashion industry, and with governments, employers and unions “in the countries concerned”, and with the International Labour Organisation.
