New TenCate partnership focuses on mass-produced lightweight components

TenCate continues partnership with Aachen Center for Integrative Lightweight Production

Thermoplastic composite materials manufacturer TenCate Advanced Composites has signed a new two-year partnership contract with AZL Aachen, a development centre in the German city of Aachen focused on advancing the production of lightweight materials.

TenCate and AZL Aachen want to develop improved production processes for mass manufacture of lightweight components that can be used in a variety of applications. The aim is to increase productivity and reduce manufacturing costs for thermoplastic and thermoset composites.

Initially, the automotive industry will be a key target market for these mass-produced lightweight components, but other applications are possible.
