US firms team up for ‘radiation-shielding’ cap

US-based CLOAQ Apparel has collaborated with RadiaShield Technologies to produce a line of products that they say have the ability to shield radiation by neutralising incoming electromagnetic waves.

The first product, a cap, has been lined with a silver fabric that reportedly reflects and absorbs the waves.

CLOAQ CEO Joseph Guidry had been a television producer and camera operator for 20 years and created the collection while searching for a way to shield camera operators from wireless radiation.

"The camera and audio gear we use to make TV shows emit high levels of electromagnetic radiation,” he said. ”It is our goal to shield people in the entertainment industry as well as the individual who has everyday exposure produced by cell phones, electronics, smart metres, microwaves and Wi-Fi."
