North Carolina State supports textile development seminar in Ecuador

Five academics from North Carolina State University travelled to the Ecuadorean city of Ibarra in mid-February to take part in a seminar aimed at encouraging local students to focus on textile and polymer development.

More than 300 students from various institutions attended the seminar and heard talks from North Carolina State academics Stephen Michielsen, Melissa Pasquinelli, Nelson Vinueza, Wendy Krause and Martin King.

Ibarra is Ecuador’s “knowledge city” and home to a national university for research, development and technology. The authorities have expressed hope that links between its students and North Carolina State can continue.
