Italian textile manufacturer praises corn-based fibre

The owner of Italian textile maker E.Boselli has said making fabrics from corn-based Ingeo is in keeping with contemporary market needs that include “responsibility in the product quality features”.

“To produce a fabric from such an innovative biopolymer, featuring high-tech characteristics and starting from a natural origin is something not just innovative but completely aligned with contemporary market needs,” said Marco Boselli.

He admitted there is a learning process when it comes handling new fibres, but brands are interested once they know the performance and aesthetic characteristics are reached. “Innovative, high-quality products are always a good argument for contemporary market players, even if, of course, this is a process that needs a proper time, elaboration and development in order to be appropriately positioned and activated,” he added.
